Background Text?????

Under View and Page Break Preview for each page you will see a Page 1 and so on written in grey and looks like its sort of in the background of the text of the spreadsheet.

My question is is there a way to highlight certain cells and place a custom text in this grey font that appears in, what I call, the background.

Im on Excel 97 SR-1
 

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
You could use the Insert WordArt and Format WordArt tools on the WordArt toobar.

It appears that may be part of the footer -- that you set with FILE|PAGE_SETUP|HEADER_FOOTER
The question of that being in lighrt color a s a background, I don't know what is that about.
