Hi there

I am trying to create a simple bar graph with a secondary axis.

In column A I have Supplier Names
Column B is a Dollar Value $100,000 up to $3m
Column C is an Number of Orders between 3 and 600

When I do a simple bar chart the Numbers of orders are small they cannot be seen so i put them onto a secondary axis, however they then appear on top of the dollar value bars instead of beside them.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Renee

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Ok, I have 2007, but pretty sure they are the same on this.

Highlight your data >> Insert >> Charts >> Column >> 2-D Clustered Column

Select chart object

Layout >> Current Selection >> Drop down box >> Select order series (or whatever you called the second series)

Series should be hightlighted >> ctrl + 1 >> Series Options >> Plot Series On >> Secondary Axis

At this point you might want to turn that series into a line so it stands apart from the 1st series.

Click on the order series >> Design >> Type >> Change Chart Type >> select line

I'm trying to accomplish the same thing as Reneek but using Excel 2003 and I can't seem to figure it out based on the steps identifiied for 2007 & 2010. Can it be done in 2003?
