Hi all,

Had a look on the forum so apologies if this has been asked before....

I have a summary table showing a list of branches (its a work thing), and in a seperate tab I have the same list but with the relevant sales number

The sales number format is conditional formatting on a sliding scale.

What I want is the format of the summary tab, to reflect the formatting of the sales number cell in the second tab.

I know I cant do this without VB....help!

Cheers

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
If you just want to copy the formatting of one cell to another cell, you don't need VBA: just copy the cell, then Paste Special > Formats > OK.

If you want the VBA, you can record yourself carrying out the process from the keyboard and it will generate code which looks something like this:-
Code:
    Range("A1").Copy
    Range("B1").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteFormats, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:=False, Transpose:=False
(Edited to remove the unnecessary Selects.)

Hopefully I've not misunderstood what you're asking.

Hi ruddles,
Thanks, but the format is fluid in that it will regularly change, and I need the summary to update to reflect, so copy and paste will not work.

Hard to imagine but what I need is the list of branches which are text fields to reflect the colours which are being deteimed by the relative sales number on a back up tab, from conditional format.

Hope that makes sense? Cheers for the help

You could trigger the copy operation to happen whenever the contents of the summary cell changes.
