I notice that the buttons I've got on my userform sometimes act as though they haven't been clicked, and need to be clicked twice.

It looks to me like this is a built-in feature, not an issue with system resources. Maybe to prevent accidental double-clicking? I can click back and forth between two separate buttons very quickly (resizing the userform each time).

But there's a good half-second delay in the responsiveness of a single button to separate click events. Is there a way to change or do away altogether with the delayed reaction?

One thing to try is "DoEvents" just before any time consuming statements or loops in your code. As a start, I would try it as the first statement in your button click procedure.
