Hi,

I have a list of pupils with dates of birth. I wish to quickly calculate in which term (semester) they were born. Pupils ages range from 3 to 11. Birth dates and terms as follows:

Sept 1st - Dec 31st incl. - Autumn/Fall
Jan 1st - Apr 30th incl. - Spring
May 1st - Aug 31st incl. - Summer

Any formulae ideas, folks?

If date of birth is in A1 then this formula will give the relevant term

=LOOKUP(MONTH(A1),{0,5,9;"Spring","Summer","Autumn/Fall"})
