Calling Excel File from Macro from other Office Application

Hi, can one call a file to be opene from a macro so that it opens in its natural application. I have a powerpoint but i want it to open an excel file as well when its started. Can one do this?
 

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
Sure, provided you are not looking to control the application, one option is to use the Shell() function.

Here is an example of opening a Word File from Excel... simply change the Application and File/path of the file.
