Hi I am using Camara tool images in my excel sheets (100+).....and it is making my excel very slow i knw camara tool is really a giant resourse eater ...is there any way by which we can get a sloution of it without compromising on linked pic(Camara tool)..........MAY b by increasing excel virtual memory help ......i am just gueesssing ....................?????

Excel Facts

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
Code the macro to delete the pictures as the macro is initiated, then recreate them when it's finished.

Edit: Use a separate sub to make it easy to call from any macro in your workbook. use a boolean argument so that you can pass "True" and "False" to the separate sub to indicate whether the macro is starting (and the pictures need to be deleted) or ending (and they need to be recreated).

You might try declaring a static collection in the separate sub, a collection that holds the pictures until the sub is rerun... and then empties after the pictures are recreated.

Can you describe what you are aiming to do, and what your overall process is? It may be that there is another way to do what you want.

If you use the camera tool a lot it will slow down your workbook (and your code). The only real workaround I know of is by Jan Karel Pieterse and it involves using formulas in the links so that if a controlling cell is 1, the formula just returns "". See his DDoE post here.
