=IF(OR(F389="",(ISERROR(IF(F389=1,0.5,3)))),"",IF(F389=1,0.5,3))

this formula could be in any cell. Cell F389 currently has the value of #NA the formulas result is #NA but should show blank.

any idea where it is wrong?

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Would you describe in words what you need?

Can you post a sample of your data? You look a little confused with syntax.

If cell f389 equals 1 show .5 else show 3 if cell f389 is anything but a number show blank...

after typing out what i needed i came up with a differant formula that works for what I am doing....

=IF(ISNUMBER(F389),IF(F389=1,0.5,3),"")

thanks for the effort though.
