Good day codesmith

Since my original post was deleted for sounding too much like a job add I will rephrase.

I work as a Visual Intelligence Developer for a company in South Africa. We specialise in taking data located in Excel and transforming it into an interactive dashboard report using a thrid pary application. A core competancy for this type of job is extensive knowledge of Excel.
Most organisation have people doing their own analytics within Excel and they don't have any real way of presenting this information apart from PowerPoint. Using third party software someone such as yourself could take such a spreadsheet and with some Excel "magic" transfor that into an interactive dashboard report that could enable key decision makers to see the bigger picture.

In general it's what other skills you have that are the most important as just Excel and VBA will only get you so far.
I would have to agree, it doesn't really matter what you can do with Excel, but rather how you apply that knowledge to a subject area. Ex. within our company Excel is a must have core requirement, furthermore having subject matter expertise (such as Project, Financial or Performance Management) is also essential. Since we have to consult with clients we need all manner of people to cover the bases. You can't use Excel to analyse HR data if you don't know the first thing about HR.
