Hello, folks,

Last year someone recorded me playing on a little piano and made a CD.
The files are named like Track01.cda

Everything plays right...

Now I've put one on the internet
Abba
Can somebody play it?
I can download it on my computer, but then the programme tells me
"PlayCenter can not find the disk in the station. Please place disk ..."

Is this problem easy to explain for some music fan?

thanks for reading,
Erik

Eric if you copied it directly from the cd you got nothing but a header/shortcut file that points to the actual file that you will not be able to read in windows explorer. Rip it with windows media player to MP3. The actual file from your CD would be very large. ~ 45-60 megs for a typical song. If you don't have windows media player, google DBPower Amp. I have been using that program for years. Very simple app

Hi, Tom,

Thank you so much for answering.
Rip it with windows media player to MP3.

I might be handy in playing life on the piano, but when it comes to master the digital misic world I fell quite  So I browsed menus and submenus in my Windows Media Player (version 9.00.00.3349), but couldn't get to a solution.

Can you give some steps to follow please?

If it matters, I am on the good, old Windows 98SE.

best regards,
Erik

I have Windows Media Player (version 9.00.00.3354), and there is an option on the left side on the taskbar that is copy from CD. Or under View-->Go To-->Copy from CD.

Hope that helps.

OK, thanks for that. It worked. I saw the "copy" option before, but didn't manage to understand it

Is there a trick to "rip it ro MP3" like Tom suggested?

Here is your reward.

Abba, Father
Last year I gave a recital and played two songs. I know the melody very good and like to play it in several settings: everytime something new occurs. This one is made at the beginning of a "support" concert, for some people who went out to help in Jemen.
"Abba, Father" is a lovely christian song melody and I chose it some days before the concert. This concert was given on a little straight piano in a church and it was recorded "as good as possible" by some amateur. But I love the result.

warm regards,
Erik
PS: concert date was February 3rd

hmm, perhaps I'll post this in the Lounge too :)

Hi Eric. Tools-Options-Rip Music Tab. You can change the format and quality.

Nice playing BTW. I play the pianio myself. :)

I would think that it would rip them as mp3 by default, but if that is not the case check here --> Tools-->Options-->Copy Music Tab (atleast on my version).

My format is set at Windows Media Audio. And the quality is set at 128 Kbps, but CD quality I believe is 192 Kbps, but that will in turn make your files much larger.

Hope that helps.

thanks for your follow up :)

I do not see mp3 anywhere, too tired ??
but I saw of course the options to reduce quality
you can not hear much difference, because the initial quaility was not that good, I chose middle level
