Is there a way to make the contents of a cell visible through an AutoShape or a drawn shape that is imported shape from another program? The only option I can find is to have it appear as a sheet background or to make the shape transparent.

I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
rleigh,

My options include "No Fill" for Format Auto Shape... Would that work?

Thanks but I would like to have the shape have some color, hence "no fill" is not an option. Also, as I foolishly forgot to say before, I would like to have the contents of multiple cells show through.

If you're saying you want a technique similar to the example you posted a link to, try creating a cell in your worksheet that concatenates all the values you want to show in the shape and set the link to that cell.
