Cell Format Issues

I get unexpected results when date formatting a worksheet cell in a MS Excel spreadsheet - in other words it looks like a calculation is trying to take place such that entering 1220 in the cell returns a date of 5/4/1903 and entering 12202006 0r 122006 returns a negative date displayed as ########. I have not experienced something like that before – and I use MS Excel way too much!

The cells are formatted as dates.

Is there a way I can enter the dates with out the slashes?

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

Dates in Excel are actually stored as numbers, specifically the number of days since 1/1/1900. So 1220 converts to May 4, 1903.

You need to enter dates with slashes to get it to work the way you want. Otherwise it thinks you are entering the date as the day value I mentioned above, and converts it to whatever format you have chosen.

If you want to enter the days without slashes, some VBA might be required to convert them for you.
