Cell referencing

Good Afternoon,

I know that within the spreadsheet itself, you can use VBA code to insert the value of one cell into another by using the following:

" & [A6] & "

What i would like to do is have these references within the footer of the document and thus far, it will not let me do that.

Does anyone know how i can do this? im using Excel 97....

fwiw, I use variations on the following in numerous files:

Sub InsertHeaderFooter()
' inserts the same header/footer in all worksheets

        Application.StatusBar = "Changing header/footer in " & ws.Name

            .CenterHeader = "Page &P of &N"
            .RightHeader = "Printed &D &T"
            .LeftFooter = "Path: " & ActiveWorkbook.Path
            .CenterFooter = "Workbook name: &F"
            .RightFooter = "Sheet name: &A"
        End With
    Next ws
    Set ws = Nothing
    Application.StatusBar = False
End Sub

Hey that was very helpful how would you keep the status bar but exclude hidden worksheets? TIA
