Challenges in Vlookup function

Hi,

I need your help..

I have used a vlookup formula as below. And when there is match not found it shows blank ("") instead of #N/A, but when there is match found and no value in another column then it shows zero. But, i want it to show blank as well when there is a value not found in the another column. I appreciate your assistance.


=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)),"",(VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)))

You have to check the result of the vlookup for ""

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)),"",IF(VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)="","",VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)))

Or if the expected return of the vlookup is TEXT and not number, you can use the t function.
=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)),"",T(VLOOKUP(C7,'Vasu'!$A$2:$V$18306,2,0)))

Here's it's description in the formula wizard dialogue
"Checks whether a value is text, and returns the text if it is, or returns double quotes (empty text) if it is not."
