Change format based on vlookup

I have two option buttons. If option button 1 is chosen, it looks up a vlookup value in Table A, which is DOLLAR sales. If option button 2 is chosen, it looks up a vlookup value in Table B, which is PERCENT change.

Cell A1 is the return value. So is there a way to format that cell so if button 1 is chosen, the format in the cell is for currency, and if it is button 2, then the format is a percentage?
