Checked/unchecked radio button defaults

I have a spreadsheet with two radio buttons that I want unchecked as their native state. However, one or the other of them becomes checked after I click on one of them (as they should). This becomes very annoying when doing multiple test runs and I have to each time re-format the control value to UNCHECKED to get it back to the way the end-user will see it. Is there a way to set the default value to UNCHECKED so that I don't always have to change them back?

Many thanks.

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
so will the default be whenever the file is opened? I not clear on when the radio buttons should be unchecked? Sounds like you have more than two. How many do you have?
