Hello, I am not an excel pro but I am capable. I created a GPA calculator in excel and I cannot figure out how to make a reset button that will clear all fields but not disturb the formatting. Is this possible?
I am using a MAC version 2008

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Hello and Welcome,

This depends on the details of how your GPA calculator works.

If you created it in VBA your might be trying to use .Clear on your range which will also clear the formatting. If that is the problem, try using .ClearContents instead.

If your calculator is formula-based instead of VBA; please post a screen shot using HTML Maker or Excel Jeanie so we can help.

Probably the easiest thing to do is just name the range - something clever like rngInputs or rngToClear and then, when you want to reset the form select the name (using the name box) and hit your DELETE key.

I'm NOT a Mac user, so I have no access to Excel 2008. But AFAIK, you can't "make a reset button" because XL2008 does not include VBA.

Thanks. But it is okay. I will just close without saving. That seems to be the easiest way. I appreciate all of your help :)
