Is there a simple code to remove specific text from a range?

For example I can use
Code:
.range("A1").text = .range("A1").text & " extra text"
to add " extra text" to the cell text.

Is there an equally basic commmand to remove " extra text" from the cell text?

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
The Text property is read only, so you can't assign it a value. That said try:

.Range("A1").Value = Replace(.Range("A1").Value, " Extra Text", "")
