Color a cell

Hi


I would like to color a cell in red if a "if" statement is true, any idea how could I do that? in VB or formula


eg: if cell A1 is populated then color in red

to use the conditional format, highlight the cells you want colored, then select format - Conditional Format - change drop-down to formula is
=$A1<>""
then select the pattern format color you want
