In Excel 2010 Startups, how do I get rid of these COM-Add-Ins?: Foxit PDF Creator, Natural Reader

1.) Dialog box: Un-check does not work, they still come up

2.) Dialog box: Remove them? No change, they still come up

3.) Registry? I set LoadBehavior to 0 (this was not in Registry / Current User), they still come up . . . How to remove COM add-ins

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Are you on a work computer? Perhaps they are controlled by a group policy.

No, it's my home PC.

I'm thinking . . . the only way would be to see if there's a way I can un-check these, when I do the program installs (Foxit and NR) . . . ie un-check it where it says to install plugins for various programs.

But then, why does Excel have the option to keep these from loading up? I wonder what has to be enabled in Windows, that would allow me to do this. Any idea how to get an answer for that?

I am trying to do this from an Admin account, so that's not an issue.

I googled the message: "This add-in is installed for all users on this computer and can only be connected or disconnected by an administrator."

And found this page: This add-in is installed for all users on this computer, and can only be connected or disconnected by an administrator

Here's a summarized version of the fix:

File / Options / Add-ins / COM Add-ins - Go

In Windows 7, even when you are logged in as administrator, UAC no longer gives you “Full” administrator rights. To get all of the access you now also have “run as administrator”

The general process is . . . Start one of the Office apps using any one of the following “run as admin” techniques . . .

Windows 10 would not allow me to run as admin with a shortcut, so:

Navigate to the file:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE

Right click on the .EXE file and select "Run as Admin"

You should now be able to remove add-in's

. . . Yes, this worked. I was able to un-check these for starting up!
