Hello -

I have a summary tab in excel for sheet 1. I would like to calculate the number of cells containing specific text based on criteria in column A1 and column E1 from sheet 1.
The issue is that the rows on sheet 1 will gradually increase over time. Is there a formula that can automate the count when rows increase, while also counting the criteria/text in columns A1 and E1?

This formula for example, generates the data I am seeking. It will just need to be updated manually if rows are added to sheet 1

=SUM(COUNTIFS(SHEET1!A2:A88,"SL1",SHEET1!N2:N88,"PENDING LEGAL CLEARANCE"))

Thank you

Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
How about
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(SHEET1!A:A,"SL1",SHEET1!N:N,"PENDING LEGAL CLEARANCE")
