Compile error: xlMissingItemsNone not defined

I developed a spreadsheet app in Excel 2003 and installed this latest version in 11/2008 on an XP machine that has been rebooted many times since then. File date is still 11/2008.

Today, after rebooting/defragging the application will not run. User is getting a compile error (variable not defined) with this line of code:

pt.PivotCache.MissingItemsLimit = [ xlMissingItemsNone ]

The brackets are to indicate this variable is highlighted in the editor.

I am running Excel 2007 and a copy of this works fine on my machine now.

I archive each replaced copy and tried an older version on the target PC (in case someone has been tinkering) and get the same error.

I rebooted again hoping that would clear the problem but it hasn't.

It's like Excel can't use this reference now. Strange.

So the site is not getting their quarterly-hour status updates until I work this out. TIA for any light you can shed on this.

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Turns out the site has seen this before and has a work around. They've been doing this for a looong time but never mentioned to me. Since I was one to reboot PC today, I found out the hard way.

Load Excel first and then load the spreadsheet.

Oddly, this does work. Status reports are being provided again (whew!).

I would like to eliminate this problem. Any ideas?
