Complex Vlookup

I assume a Vlookup is the formula needed.

I am creating a chart that is reading information from another chart. However; the new chart will be condensing the first chart into sectors.

The first chart is of owned stocks and amount of initial investment per company
I have listed with them in a separate chart the sector and industry each company is in

What I want is a second chart that will condense companies within the same sector and add their total initial investments.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
you may be able to use pivotcharts and just use the different groupings

it would be useful to see the data structure - maybe by loading a sample sheet -with dummy data onto a share like onedrive, dropbox
