Concatenation of a negative figure and asterix makes damages cond formatting

Dear all,

I use a conditional formatting for my values. If it's negative it should be red if positive then green. However some values are followed by an asterix like this "-4.56% *". Such concatenation makes the cell to be a positive for conditional formating which is incorrect. Any ideas how to solve it?
