I want to use conditional formatting to make my cell a certain color based on the color of another cell. The original cell is not using conditional formatting it is being imported from another system. As an example I want to use conditional formatting in cell B1 that will turn B1 blue if A1 is blue. Any help would be much apprecaited! I am using 2007 btw.

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
You wouldn't use conditional formatting for that, you would need some VBA code.

Something like

Code:
Sub ColorIt()
Dim c As Range

For Each c in Range("B1:B100")
    c.Interior.Colorindex = c.Offset(0,-1).Interior.Colorindex
Next c
End Sub

Hope that helps.
