I just got 2010 Excel so I'm struggling. I want to put a conditional format in cell X11. If cell AD11 has an X change the color of cell X11. I can not seem to get it. Please help ........
From the Home Tab Select CF drop down, select New Rule, Select the option Use a formula to determine.... Than in Formula Box put =AD11="X", select the format.
That was way to easy. I was thinking way to hard. Thank you.
One more question.
If AD11 was a color and if it was like yellow. How would I write the formula. If AD11=YELLOW turn X11 yellow.

You can't use the color in a cell to conditionally format another cell, but if cell AD11 is colored yellow by conditional formatting, you can use the same CF rule applied to AD11 on X11 so it will turn yellow whenever AD11 turns yellow.
