Ref: This thread: How to use conditional formatting to highlight top 3 ranked scores - breaks when 2 scores are the same :-(

Hi Peter, I'm wanting to do exactly the same, however want to treat 1st, 2nd, 3rd more like one would expect in a sporting race.

Two examples:
* If two people tie for 1st place: the result would be 1st Gold, 1st Gold, 3rd Bronze (no silver because the 3rd person was the 3rd (bronze) past the post).
* If two people tie for 2nd place: the result would be 1st Gold, 2nd Silver, 2nd Silver, no bronze awarded.
* If two people tie for 3rd place: the result would be 1st Gold, 2nd Silver, 3rd Bronze, 3rd Bronze.

Is this possible? In my case, my table is A205:L304, with the values to 'rank' in column L. I'm hoping to be able to highlight the whole row.

Could we have some small sample data and expected results (entered manually) with XL2BB?
