Conditions for median

I been trying to find the median of a set of numbers based on conditions I can set. However the following formula isn't giving me any results.

=MEDIAN(IF($B$2:$B$10="ATL",$D$2:$D$10))

This is an array formula. Are you confirming with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER and not just ENTER?

hey PGC....may be a silly question, sorry to but in, but how do you know if something is an Array formula ? and what are the purposes of those ?
