Hi

How do I convert a number stored as text, to a number format with VBA?

I use the following formula to extract the number part of an ID

Code:
=RIGHT(RC[-1],7)

but I need the result stored as a number, not text.

Thanks

Try this:
Code:
Sub Convert_text2num()
    Dim rngData As Range, rngCell As Range

    With Sheet1
        Set rngData = .Range("A1:A10")
        For Each rngCell In rngData
            With rngCell
                .Value = Val(.Value)
                .NumberFormat = "0"
            End With
        Next
    End With

End Sub
Above would work - Provided you have the range of extracted numbers from text in column A from rows 1 to 10.
