I have copied a command button and paste it in another sheet. I have managed to change the name but the macro won’t work. When right clicking the button I don’t get properties in the drop down box. Is there another way of accessing properties for the command button?

If you run this code, does the caption change
VBA Code:
Sub Check()
   ActiveSheet.DrawingObjects("Button 1").Caption = "Test"
End Sub

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
In that case it's not "Button 1", which maybe hidden somewhere. Try this & hopefully the button should appear in D4
VBA Code:
Sub Check()
With ActiveSheet.DrawingObjects("Button 1")
   .Visible = True
   .Top = Range("D4").Top
   .Left = Range("D4").Left
End With
End Sub

Ran the code and nothing happened.

Ok, select one of the buttons & on the ribbon select "Shape Format" & then "Selection Pane" that should show you all the shapes that are on the sheet. Is there one called Button 1
