I'm working in 2007 and have cells that I want protected. The end users must be able to Copy A3 to D42 and place that information in F45 to I83 or K45 to N83. So, I am just trying to protect my formulas. Most of the cells are unprotected and unlocked since they need the flexiblity to copy and paste the lot information. First I unlocked the whole spreadsheet and then selected A43, C43, F43, H43, K43, P43, U43, W43, Z43 and AB43 I then needed to also proctect A84, C84, F84 and H84, K84, P84, U84 W84, Z84 and AB84. These 2 rows hold my total cells. I protected the worksheet with a password allowing all user to Select Locked Cells and Select Unlocked Cells.
The end user is then copying F3 to I39(total of 36 rows) and then trying to past in K45 they are receiving the "The cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected and therfore read-only.....message. K45 is not a proctected. It is less then the 39 rows "break between protected cells and this doesn't happen all the time. Just after a few copys and pastes.
I have checked others posts in regards to protection and it does not seem to be that the cells are being locked after the copy and pasting. This is a huge workbook and is linked to other large workbooks. Could this cause the issue? Is there a better way just to protect my formulas?
Thanks for any help
