count based on data from another sheet

Hi all,
I've been struggling with a formula for GSheets.
I have the data in another sheet and I want to count how many time does a name appear during 7 columns.
Basically I have this formula COUNTIF(HLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!$E$6:$Q$12,1),A2) but it doesn't display how many times it shows up.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times

Sort by date Sort by votes
How about
Excel Formula: 
=COUNTIFS(Sheet2!B:H,A3)
