Count blanks -- pivot table

This is probably an easy setting somewhere, I want my pivot table to actually tell me how many blanks there are between row $ & row $
By default a pivot table simple has (blank) but does not list total as it does for other values --

Thanks ahead of time.

I'm not sure of any settings but you could just replace the blanks with something eg a letter, then count that.

Yeah, I thought of that & it could be the route I'll have to take but I was hopeful there was a simple setting -- thanks
