Hello All

I am trying to make it so it will count how many values are in a column based on what selectin I pick from a drop-down list

Example

G15 - Drop-down list (All in One, Desktop, Laptop, 4G Laptop, Touch Screen Laptop, TS/4G Laptop)

G9: Where the count will show

G18 Onwards: Where the values will be selected

I have used normal COUNTIF in the sheet, but I'm a bit stuck on what I am looking for

Any help is appreciated

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
a countif() or countifs() should work

=countif( device type column range , dropdown list cell)

But how do you tell "whats in stock", what "ready to deploy", "issued from stock", "pending"
are these codes used in the data in a column somewhere

Note: Images are difficult to see , and also requires that I input all the data myself, which is very time consuming.

A SMALL sample spreadsheet, around 10-20 rows, would help a lot here, with all sensitive data removed, and expected results mocked up and manually entered, with a few notes of explanation.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data and will allow us to copy/paste your sample data into our Excel spreadsheets, saving a lot of time.

You can also test to see if it works ok, in the "Test Here" forum.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC , then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share
I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
Please make sure you have a representative data sample and also that the data has been desensitised, remember this site is open to anyone with internet access to see - so any sensitive / personal data should be removed
