Greetings, I have the following formula which counts the number of employee terminations by month and year, but needing the count to be only if text in another column (range: L55:L200) includes "*Sales*". Similarly if the count within that range does NOT include "*Sales*".

=SUMPRODUCT((MONTH(Table3[Date of Termination])=Y55)*(YEAR(Table3[Date of Termination])=Z55))

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Can you confirm that L55:L200 is another column in Table3?
- If so, what is the table column heading?
- If not, surely the ranges are likely to be different sizes resulting in an error?

Perhaps you could construct a small set of sample data and expected results, post that with XL2BB and explain again in direct relation to that sample?
