Hi

My knowledge of excel is basic, can anybody help me with the following problem

I need to count how many times a person attends hospital over a certain month, but a patient can attend more than once.

As I have duplicate patient references I used a pivot table. This provides a report that gives the patient reference and total visits during the month for that patient.

I would now like to summarise this info into a total of patients that attended once, twice, three times etc over the month. Is there a better way to do this, is a pivot table the correct way to go?

Thanks

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
If you make a copy of your pivottable of patient reference and total visits per month, as values elsewhere, and fill in title gaps ( Goto/Special/Blanks/OK type = {uparrow}{Ctrl+Enter} ), and use that as the input to another pivottable, and do a Count of your previous Totals, that should give you what you want.
