I have a spreadsheet for ordering TShirts of various sizes. In the G Column, I only want to tally (count) the cells that have text data (not blanks) as long as the text is NOT "NO".
I don't know how to do a counta with an if... or even if that is possible. The count function is that counts ALL non blank cells is =COUNTA(G2:G42) .. but this counts the cell containing "NO" as well. ThAnKs!
Thanks!

Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
Tried this: =COUNTIFS(G2:G42,"<>NO",G2:G42,">0") also tried =COUNTIFS(G2:G42,">0",G2:G42,"<>NO")
But both came up with 0. I'm counting the S, M, L, Xl etc in another place, I just want to be sure that the two counts are the same. Ie... I entered a 2X as XX so it came up in the counta, but not in the count of 2x. I could then tell that the sum of the individual sizes was off.... because it didn't match the counta of the g column.

Thanks again
