# countif comparing other cells

I am keeping track of high school football stats and trying to come up with a way to calculate 3rd conversion rate.
I have 3 columns: “Down”, “to go”, and “Gain”.
I want to read the “Down” column and if = 3, then I want to see if “gain” is greater than or equal to the “to go” column.
Example:
A B C
Down To Go Gain
1 10 4
2 6 1
3 5 12
1 10 7
2 3 1
3 2 1
4 1 9
1 10 2
2 8 -2
3 10 4

This is what I was thinking, but can’t seem to get it to work.
=COUNTIF((A1:A10=3)*(C1:C10,">=" B1:B10))

Expecting my output to be 1 in this example.
Any help would be appreciated.

### Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.

Try,

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A10=3)*(C1:C10>B1:B10))
