Hiya all!

I need to count data in a range, only if cell H59 has data. When I use the formulas I know it counts it regardless of it being blank.

There is a formula in the blank cell so that may be why excel is counting it regardless of if it is blank.

=IF(G59="","",IF(ISNUMBER(FIND("-",G59)),LEFT(G59,FIND("-",G59)-1),G59))

P.S. I did copy then paste special and values only so I could get rid of the formula. It's still coming up with results when it should be blank!

can somebody please give me a formula for this?? Pretty please...

Thanks,
Tara

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.

Try...

=COUNTIF(H59,"?*")

Hiya all!

I ended up simplifying and using
=IF(COUNTIFS(G54,""),"",COUNTIF(G:G,G54))

Thanks for your input, very much valued!
