O.K. I did a search and could not find an answer to my problem. I am trying to do a very simple coutif function =COUNTIF(B4:AG4,"=A") where I am trying to count the number of "A" are in the row B4:AG:4. It works fine until it gets to more than 9 occurances and yields a # sign in the cell. If I go to format cell it shows the correct number, but displays # instead of the number itself. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
