Hi all,

On my excel spreadsheet there is a single column of data that about 300 teacher positions, eg. English teacher, Maths teacher, History teacher etc. I'd like to ask excel to count how many positions there are of each. I've tried the =COUNTIF formula, but the problem is that I have to scroll down and identify myself all the unique options on the column. Is there any way that excel could do this on its own? I'd like to use this data to create a pie chart.

I'm new to the community and not very excel savvy- apologies if this question has already been asked/has a really obvious answer.
