Hello,

I have a column which represents a list of countries and the countries are repeated more than once..

I need to build a histogram which shows the number of times each country is repeated in the column..

what's the easiest way of doing this?

thanks
andy

Excel Facts

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Can you not create a new table of unique country names, then apply a formula next to it like:

=COUNTIF(A1:A100,C1)

Where A1:A100 is your range of country names with duplicates, and C1 is the cell with your unique country on....

Then create a chart from your new table (F11)

hi thorpyuk,

i was actually thinking of a "one click" solution...

your idea is a bit time-consuming ...

Some clever guy needs to come up with a macro I would think!
