Creating a graph with date and time along the x-axis

I tracked the high tides and low tides in an area for a month, and there were roughly four per day. Could I put the date and time on the x-axis like say starting Sept 20 0:00 , next tick mark Sept 20 6:00 , and continue increasing by 6:00 hours or even 12 hours? Just not sure how I would go about this (the tide height in meters would be on the y- axis not that it really affects anything).
