Ctl A does not work in the desktop excel app?

When I open a file from my 365 account, Control A works fine. If I switch to the desktop app, it doesn't work. How can I fix the problem and enable it? Thank you.

should work in all apps. Does yr desk app have any code to capture keystrokes to stop it?
