How can I custom format cells to insert space between letters and numbers in a cell?

RESULT
AB25CD1234AB 25 CD 1234

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
There is no custom format for that. You would have to use a separate formula cell, or code to actually alter the current cell contents.

Something like:

=LEFT(A2,2)&" "&MID(A2,3,2)&" "&MID(A2,5,2)&" "&right(A2,4)

depending on how uniform the data is. If the sections might vary in length, it can get more complicated.
