I have a quick Macro I stored in the Normal.doc folder (the Word version fo the Personal.xls workbook in Excel). I created a custom menu and added a button for the macro so I can use it any time in Word.

For some reason, the button disappears after I turn off my computer. Is there something I need to do so this doesn't happen?

Hi Stephen,

The default template for Word is named Normal.dot (not Normal.doc). Plus, if you're storing somewhere other than the default location, you have to tell Word where that is (Tools|Options|File Locations > User Templates > Modify). Finally, after making your changes to the template (you can't simply open a new document based on Normal.dot and save the modified copy as Normal.dot - you should use File|Open and select the '.dot' files), you need to make sure to save them.

Cheers
