I have been working on this issue for several hours now. I am essentially trying to normalize data based on item numbers and their description. I would like to have one unique description description for every unique item number but currently the descriptions have small differences in them, complicating things. I was using pivot tables to see the different descriptions, then going back to the original worksheet and changing the description there but it has been taking a while so I have been playing around with IF statement with no such luck. It does not have to be a particular description, so long as it is uniform throughout. Please see example below. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

ItemDescriptionFinal Description
1AppleApple
1applesApple
1Apple - FruitApple
2GrapeGrape
2GrapeGrape
3OJOJ
3OJOJ
3Orange JuiceOJ
