Data that needs to be move from different column and row

If I have columns A and B, and in column A2 I have last names and A3 is first names in a long data list, and I want to move A3 to B2 and so on, is there a formula to move these over ?

You can't move anything with a formula. You could only have a formula in cell B2 setting it equal to A3, but once you did this all the way down your sheet, you could copy column B and then paste special back onto itself with values only.

It sounds like what you want is the Paste Special --> Transpose option.
