Data Type Memo

dear all

i am using access 2010, i am new in access.
i have a table that i am listing generators in it, one field is named history , it has a data type ( Memo). i need to update this field on daily basis and keep the previous records.

please advise on how to do it.

Suggest you make the memo field a separate table that you can link to the main table with a common field. In the memo table, you would pobably have three fields, PK that links to the main table, probably have some sort of date field and the memo field. Make the memo table bound to a subform in your main form.

dear alansidam

i tried the following and it works.
i created a memo field, name it history , in design view in the fied properties i change thee "append to" from no to yes.
now in datasheet view if i right click anu of the record,it will give me the complete history with time and date.

the problem now that i have no idea on how to transfer it to a report .

hope you can assist.
