Data Validation assistance

real noobie here and somewhat embarrassed but I have tried to source but couldn't find info

I need assistance on this please

On 1 workseet there is 1 category. FRUITS and listing of fruits. Validating that was not so difficult and created dropdown.

I have problem with a formula that i need. I need to link another category named PRICES

From these list of fruits, an orange would cost $1 and and apple $2 (fixed price) etc

how do i formulate list of FRUITS and PRICES, that the dropdown shows FRUITS, but when they choose APPLE for example, the PRICE is reflected not the fruit per se, i need the dropdown to reflect the FRUITS not the PRICES. I had much trouble finding the right formula for this.

Sorry if it sounds confusing. Basically I already have a FRUITS list. Now I need another FRUITS dropdown, but when chosen, PRICES is reflected

If you create a lookup table of fruits and prices then you could use VLOOKUP http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions02.html
